Is there an API for SopCast?

Good afternoon. I want to try to write my own client to display SopCast links under Win. I tried to find information, at least some APIs, but without a chance.
I thought that it was a closed technology, only the developers themselves know everything, but when I used Ubuntu, I used TV MAXE, an open source project for these purposes. I would love to study the sources to make something of my own, but this player is written in Python, which I am not familiar with and have neither the desire nor the time to learn. I myself write in C-like languages.
In general, here are my questions:
1) Is it possible to learn how to read sop:// without personal communication with the developers?
2) If there is, then in which direction to dig?
