Is there a video player for RaspberryPi with control over TCP or DBus or via the console?

Good afternoon,
please tell me if there is a video player for Raspberry Pi that can be controlled via the network, either through the console utility, or somehow else only from an external program.
I looked at omxplayer and it didn't work.
Those. we need an approximate implementation, the
video player starts and either hangs on some port waiting for incoming requests, or it comes with a console utility that we can call our own script.
let's say we have a player running,
we type [some]player_cmd play somevid.mpg in the console
and the player starts playing the somevid.mpg video without restarting itself (like omxplayer when rewinding)
and preferably without lag, it is also desirable that there be some kind of fade effect .
I couldn't find it on my own.
Thanks in advance.

Under raspberry, only omxplayer works fine, because. only he knows how to use hardware acceleration. You can run it cyclically with scripts, but it will not work seamlessly and on repeat.
I was disappointed in raspberries about this.
