Is there a solution to control the marking of employees at certain times based on rfid technology?

The task is to record the time of the guard's passage at a certain point, and in a good way to organize a system that would send a report daily if a person did not check in at a certain time. At the request of a search engine, for example, "security control system", expensive similar systems are issued that work on the principle - rfid tags are placed in certain places, the guard goes and swipes them with a special device, then goes to the computer, applies the device to the reader and transfers the data about notes in software that needs to be configured in a certain way. The problem is that after looking at 10-15 solutions, it turned out that the software is a crooked craft of the 2000-2005s, and you don’t really need to put a PC in the security booth. I would like to understand if there are solutions to make the system work the other way around - so that the guard brings the tag to the device that will be on the local network and immediately the data about the tag is sent to the server and further processed there according to a certain algorithm. I have knowledge in the field of Arduino, I think it's a fairly simple task, but can someone advise some ready-made solution?
