Is there a service to get printer status?
I am writing a program in which there will be a functionality for printing pdf on a local printer. But when working with QPrinter, there are difficulties, namely: it can send any image for printing, but does not want to display the status of the printer. Maybe there was a printing error, or the paper ran out. Absolutely nothing, when solving this issue from the side of WinAPI, I want to send it all to hell on the 2nd day ... So tell me, maybe there is an already written service, or some program that can be polled about the state of the printer. And only after that send the document to print.
I write so far for Windows. But soon I would like to make this program work on Ubuntu. So if there is something universal I will be very grateful.
If it is important the printer I am currently working with: Kyocera FS-2100D.
