Is there a relay with the given parameters?
Good afternoon.
Not so long ago I began to study electronics, for myself. There is no experience at all, except for laboratory ones in physics lessons. And for several days I have been struggling with what, it seems to me, an elementary task. There is a load of 65W, 6A; there is a power supply for 100W, 12V; there is a motion sensor HC-SR501 PIR with a control voltage of 3.3V.
Problem: it is not possible to supply voltage from the power supply to the load through the relay using the control voltage from the motion sensor. The fact is that I can't find a relay with the following parameters: coil actuation voltage: ~3V, switching current >6A, switching voltage 12V. If I find models that are suitable for the switched current and voltage, then the voltage of the coil operation turns out to be sky-high (for example, 18V), which I simply have nowhere to get from.
Question: where did I mess up and what did I miss? Perhaps I'm overcomplicating things and there's an easier way out?
