Is there a php framework or cms with the ability to connect a database with its own structure?
The idea is: Get data from the old database / But be able to display this data using cms or a framework.
It is desirable that there are ready-made themes.
Description of the situation.
There is a self-written site management system. With its own database structure and admin panel. Developed for 7 years, but then was abandoned by the developer.
I got a little support from her and minor edits. Now the question arose in its development and the addition of new topics.
More than 200 client sites live on this self-written system. And they are managed from a single admin panel with Billing and other goodies.
But the display of sites is built on about 50 files of more than 20,000 lines of code each with a bunch of conditions and connections of other files without functions and classes. So the old code is clearly not subject to development without refactoring. But the author is not available ...
Therefore, I am looking for such a cms or framework in which it would be possible, for example
, through the model, to determine a selection of data from the old database structure and then display it in the topic.
CMS is preferable due to the existence of ready-made themes.
Due to limitation of old system php 5.3. Maybe 5.4
At 5.5 I tried it - it falls in pieces - it works here - it doesn't work here.

here I would look the other way, IMHO it's easier to write a database converter that will convert the database into a ready-made cms format, look at what cms approximately covers the functionality of your engine and write a converter, I think it's much easier. Write a script in puff or whatever. I made a backup - uploaded a script to the site - launched the converter - hung up the tsms. I checked - everything is ok - profit, it didn’t work out - rolled back)
This is a contradiction.
Because CMS and CMS, they take on the work of the logical organization of the site, saving it in the database as they, CMS, know better.
Do not rely on any automation, on the fact that someone will somehow understand himself.
But you can convert it to a view that matches the CMS format.
Or export, convert, import The
question is only in volumes.
If the volumes are not very significant, it makes sense to manually reset all the data again.
With large - automation, yes.
