Is there a more powerful command line text editor than nano?

When connecting to a home server via ssh, you often have to edit configs. I always use nano, I tried vim and it didn't work.

Is there any editor from the command line in which it would be possible to select at least areas of text? Or nano is the undisputed leader?

For use in the terminal - vim (or vi, which often comes with "sparkles", that is, you don't even need to install it separately). The learning curve is high, but the opportunities are more than enough. At the moment, for me, in general, the main editor (in the form of a plugin for IDEA).
Wim's eternal rival is emacs. But I haven't used it so I can't say. I use vim all the time.

since the advent of far commander for linux and its support for the command line, its editor can also be considered the coolest editor for the terminal

The undisputed leader, this is actually vi / vim, but they need to learn how to use.
