Is there a cheap (in terms of refill and print price) reliable b/w laser printer for SOHO on the market today?

Manufacturers are now stuffing printer cartridges with chips, which greatly complicates refilling (which is why a print on a laser printer is not so cheap). I had a Samsung ML-1640 printer at home, it was possible to wean it off with a simple hard mod to check the chip, but the mechanics of the printer turned out to be so-so: after a year of work, the paper began to cling badly.
Here we are now choosing a printer for a group of three employees ... and finally lost.
Colleagues, I ask you to share your combat experience. Please write in your answer:

  • The model of your laser printer.
  • Is there any cure for his love for chip cartridges?
  • The number of refills that a new cartridge can withstand.
  • The cost of his one-time reference.

Thank you.

since there is no price limit, I would recommend Kyosera younger models, which have a tuba and a separate drum. Really cheap to own. My clients have been running for five years now, Samsungs have long since gone to waste.

Buy cheap Brother. Maintenance is also cheap. If it breaks, buy another one.

I recommend looking at all the junk.
For example, I have an HP LaserJet 6P from the late 90s, sort of.
Old large printers are very unpretentious.
Plus, the grass used to be greener and marketers kinder, so PostScript was more frequent and more relevant. And with PS you will get this printer even on DOS.
And when the cartridge runs out, throw it away and buy another printer for 20 bucks. However, under 6P, I was able to recently buy a new cartridge.

kyocera-1120D or 1320D
Both smart, both duplex. Optionally there is a network adapter. There are no problems with drivers under Linux.
The first cartridge has a smaller capacity and no repair kits. After 100K prints it is thrown out.
The second cartridge seems to be 5000 prints and there are repair kits for 120K prints, the cost of each is like a new 1120D.
Refueling: opened the cap, shook it out, fell asleep, closed the cap.

We use Brother in our company, so far we are satisfied. They don't have chips. Filling instructions are easy to find. No hemorrhoids with printing from the terminal.

I bought myself an HP LJ1005 home. I printed a couple of pages. Then it turned out that this HP is no different from other printers of this crappy company: it only works if you turn it on before the system boots. After downloading, neither hplip nor manual firmware help.
I'm also at a loss: what to buy home? Samsung's are dead (their drums and mechanics break down very quickly), Canon/Epson have always been shit, Zyrox stuffed chips...

Canon lbp6000 - not bad printers, refuel, spare parts are cheap, hold the load

HP LaserJet 1018. Prints when I need it, works even if I turn it on when the PC is already loaded and running. True, I myself have not refilled the cartridge yet, but there are instructions on the Internet.

HP LaserJet Series II - has been working for friends for 15 (!) Years! Unbreakable car. Once it was even flooded with water when the ceiling leaked. Of the minuses - you can only buy at museum auctions and low, by today's standards, resolution (300 dpi).

HP p1102w, standing in the corner, always on, printing via Wi-Fi. A cartridge with a chip (it can be easily replaced with a new one, if necessary, it costs 50 rubles), but the printer prints fine even with a refilled one, only in the web interface it stops showing the number of already printed pages.

hp or kyocera - that's the whole choice
the model must be chosen based on the volume of printing - focus on 1 cartridge per month
