Is there a browser plugin that shows the CMS of a public site?
The plugin can determine the CMS and its version by meta tags, resource paths, standard files on the server (readme.txt). A quick googling didn't help find one.

I saw a lot of similar utilities, but this web service defines it most accurately .
There is such a thing http://w3techs.com/sites , there is a chrome extension for it . Shows a lot of things, including CMS. The only negative is that it does not always show it, but only when it was possible to determine which CMS is being used.
There is a chrome plugin . The BuiltWith Technology Profiler also shows some data about the server and can detect some plugins
