Is the size of a laptop backpack critical?

Hello. I ran into a problem - the inability to buy a normal backpack for a 13-inch MacBook in my city. There is a choice only among 15.6'' backpacks. Is it worth it to buy a wider backpack, and maybe then sew in a laptop compartment? Who has had this experience?

If the backpack is larger, it is obvious that the laptop will slide in the pocket and, accordingly, the surface will be scratched. So I recommend taking a backpack according to the size of your laptop.
