Is the O'Reilly Head First book series up to date?

Good day, dear readers, not so long ago I started studying web development and came across a series of books by O'Reilly Head First. Now I am finishing studying the book - "Learning HTML, XHTML and CSS", and several questions have come up:
1) Is the series of books suitable for starting my professional development or should I look for other literature?
In the book I am studying, it is recommended to continue studying with the book - "Learning HTML5 Programming", this book tells about DOM and API interfaces, as well as how to create dynamic pages, but the book was last published in 2012 and there is a question:
2) is the information relevant in this book? Is it worth taking a look at it?
2.1) If the answer is outdated, then what kind of literature would you recommend on these topics with the same easy and accessible presentation of the material?

If you like the presentation of material in O'Reilly books, then feel free to read. This is all basic information, it will always be relevant. What is not covered in these books, you will eventually pull up in others. But it is better to practice more, reading technical literature without practice is very poorly absorbed.
