Is there anything simpler than Telegram?
There is not enough voice-communication as in WhatsApp which is not available in Telegram, Skype, Viber.
If other secure ways of communication?
Because I asked this question, will I now be watched?
Am I paranoid?

Not safe.
In terms of the fact that if you cannot access Telegram itself, then you can access the environment where it is installed. Or to the channel through which the communication takes place.
Just imagine how groups of unorganized hackers break into the servers of large companies, and think about what organized intelligence agencies are capable of, not constrained in means and methods.
