Is Rails a very slow web framework?

While reading this article, I thought a lot about the speed of Rails. Is everything so bad with speed, or am I just worried :)

It's normal in rails with speed, look at real examples, evaluate. Even if they are a little slower, it pays off with fast and convenient development.
I myself have a project on rails, I can say that everything is fine and I am satisfied. I also read when I started that the rails slow down, but continued to study anyway.
