Is October CMS a sustainable project in 2018?

Recently advised to take a closer look at October CMS. But a question arose. Is this CMS an ongoing project in 2018? Should I pay attention to it as an alternative to ModX and WP?

I looked at a lot of cms based on laravel, there are quite a lot of them and everyone has their own shortcomings. I chose October as the most acceptable for myself.
october expands laravel quite a lot. there are pros and cons to this.
Well, in general, a year ago there was also a question whether it was developing (then it was on the outdated Laravel 5.2 and I already thought the project had died), but this year it was updated to 5.5.
in general, at the moment there are a lot of implemented functions, and everything that needs to be done can be completed in your plugins.
I would say so, if you don’t know how to program, then WP is better, there are more plugins.
if you know how - then October is better - it gives more freedom. If you know Laravel, then this gives even more freedom (although its knowledge is not required, October gives its own abstraction, and its own kind of framework over the framework).
