Is linux suitable for game dev on unity?

I make games in unity, I write programs in c#, sometimes I draw in aseprite and abode ilustrator, sometimes I go to blender, I often use the womic program. I'm interested in some points:

I remember once I installed unity on Linux, but it lagged or something like that (is it possible to fix it somehow? It was 2-3 years ago)

will everything work fine with the build? No problems with drivers? I have an old gt 425M, but enough for me.

Does unity work fine with visual studio code?

womic is supposed to work with linux. Aseprite, ilistrator, perhaps.

Discord, telegram, too.

Which Linux is better? I have 4gb ddr3 and i-5 580M. Will it be normal with ubuntu 20.04? Emphasis on performance.

In theory, it will still lag, but less, maybe a bunch of patches and .net Core were transferred to mono

Seems like it should be ok.

Yes, but vscode is not complete, consider switching to Rider

Illustrator is definitely not. womic - FIG knows.

Even 8GB was not enough for me to work with Sharp, even without Unity. How do you want to work in a unit with 4GB?
RAM in 2021 needs at least 16 GB.
Get a new computer somewhere if you want to develop in this direction.

Linux is suitable. But as for me, for the normal operation of Unity, your computer is too weak. Better upgrade your hardware.
