Is Linux Kernel Development 2nd Edition up to date?
Perhaps there is someone who read this book, this edition at one time, and knows whether it is relevant now to read about the modern core. Yes, there is a third edition, but it costs twice as much, and the version of the kernel there seems to be not very modern either (2.6), but still I want to buy the paper version.

Alas, it matters! Yes, there are a lot of changes in the core, sometimes drastic ones. But this does not detract from the fact that this book can be used to write a driver, one, two, three. Then get into the source code, see the changes - and write with new APIs.
In general, I recommend https://lwn.net/Kernel/LDD3/ and fresh examples https://github.com/martinezjavier/ldd3
