Names in popular zones are busy, free zones were found in .KZ, .BIZ, .SU and .ru.com
I determined for myself that SU is more or less suitable, but not euphonious (at the same time, delivery will be to Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus , Armenia, Kyrgyzstan - that is, the former USSR)
What do you think - can this domain zone be closed in the future, since there were rumors about this topic 10 years ago?
And is it worth looking at the .ru.com zone, because it seems to me that the user will obviously be confused here.

No, user confidence is low. It's more about consumer psychology than SEO.
I do not advise, look at .com or something like .shop But it's still better ru or com. You just have to either buy someone else's domain or show a little more imagination and / or perseverance.
PS. You would give the name of the store and the field of activity, maybe the locals will brainstorm and offer an interesting option.

Domain zones for the country will be better ranked, but this does not mean that just let's say am in Armenia will be better than ru, if both sites are well optimized, then am will be a priority. I have my own domain for each country, for example, Armenia only on am ( https://tickets.am/en)
