There is a project, an NDA has been signed with the customer. The Gulp browser-sync plugin is used in development. I would like to know if it is safe to use it with the tunnel parameter enabled, that is, when an external link to the project is created. What's actually going on under the hood? Will the code get to third parties?

You're not sending code over the tunnel, but data. In other matters, yes, they don’t flow anywhere except where you say, if you don’t believe it - tcpdump will help.
