Is it safe to register on file hosting services with a mobile number?

I often come across when searching for something - I find file hosting services, where, like, you can download the desired file, but, "enter your mobile phone to confirm." And under various pretexts: for registration, to convince me that I'm not a bot, etc. At the same time, they make sure that confidentiality is guaranteed. And the feedback feed at the bottom only reinforces bad suspicions.
There are a variety of reviews on the network: from “everything is fine” to “on ... balovo”.
I have a question: even if “everything is fine”, it seems like the file hosting service is normal (that is, I will really get the desired file after the SMS arrives on the phone), is it possible to light the phone?
And then after all, I don’t want the phone to become a receiver of SMS spam.
PS There is another kind of phone number requirement, where the file can be downloaded, but in order to get a password to unpack the archive, you again need to enter your mobile number.
UPD:
There are not only Google-like file sharing services. There are just file hosting, but the principle is the same. I don’t remember how many I saw them, they all look the same. So what am I, maybe there are normal file hosting services - which do not sell numbers and do not send spam?

A file hosting service that looks like Google, but not Google, is itself a scam trying to inspire confidence in you. Phishing site is, in short. Do not enter anything there.

This is all phishing, you will be connected to the service in demo mode for 5 days, after the expiration of the term they will charge a monthly fee of 500 rubles each. A well-known scheme

I don’t know about the others, but you can give Google, my number has been linked to the account for several years, there is no spam and incomprehensible calls

Never give your phone and other personal data to any file hosting and similar dubious resources.
There are a lot of fake sites that look like Google, Facebook, etc. This is all, as mentioned above, phishing and their only goal is to squeeze as much money out of you as possible.
If you want to download, use torrents that do not require registration, for example , or classic torrents

if a sim card with 0 on the account does not allow you to climb a minus, and you know the short number by which to remove all subscriptions, then why not.

Yes, but they are closed to search engines and invites.
Look for links to them in forums and collective blogs like habr.
