Is it possible to write programs for mac os in C++?

Hey!
There is an internal engine for 2d games for Windows in C++ (OpenGL/DirectX). So far, as a hobby, there was a desire to port it to Mac OS X. I bought a Mac Mini for this purpose. And then only questions)
1. Is there any analogue of Win32API for Mac OS X? That it was possible to cause directly system f-ii ha C/C++?
2. Which medium to choose? X code? (I'm used to working with Visual Studio, but I know that it's not available on Macs, so I don't care what I start using - everything will be new).

@Karetski

1. As far as I understand, there is what is called Cocoa in OS X.
2. The best choice would be xcode. I heard that there is a solution from JetBrains, but personally I don’t digest their IDE, and there’s no need. Xcode is good and moreover it is free.
