Is it possible to use server DDR2 ECC memory in Cisco 2921 router instead of MEM-2900-2GB?

There is a need to buy several Cisco 2921 routers, subject to a limited budget.

One way to save money is not to buy MEM-2900-2GB= memory, but to try using a regular 2GB DDR2 ECC server instead.

Will it work?

There is such an option - in the world of Kingston there is a search by part numbers of vendors for which they produce memory and there you can find full specifications and compatible memory.

somehow they changed it in 2911 to a regular RAM even without ECC. it started up without problems
, in fact, there is almost the same operative, only with the brand + ECC)
theoretically everything should start.
Can you check WarP ?
