Is it possible to use kubernetes-sigs/external-dns to manage zones in Route53 from a kubernetes cluster that is outside of AWS?
Good afternoon. It became interesting, but is it possible.
The essence of the question is this:
there is an EKS cluster in AWS, in the same place, in AWS, domains are parked. There is also a pre-produced cluster, which is located in Hetzner, sometimes you need to use the same domains there, so now we prescribe everything by hand, but I want it to be like in AWS, via external-dns.
Actually the question is how to do it?
I have been working with Kuber and AWS relatively recently, so I don’t know all the subtleties.
I thought to place one node in AWS and add it to the cluster in Hetzner and deploy external-dns on it, but it didn’t work out, swears at the lack of credits. I tried to use --aws-assume-role, it didn't work, and, it seems, it shouldn't.
