Is it possible to use exim4 for notifications in Gitlab?

Gitlab uses postfix by default to send email notifications. But, on the server, exim4 is used to send mail (via yandex pdd) for all applications / sites. Gitlab is on the same server, postfix was removed from the Gitlab package (everything came with omnibus). Now I want to force Gitlab to send emails not through postfix, but through exim4 which is on the server.
Is it possible to do this? If so, how?

Enough to prescribe Exim in the config: extract_addresses_remove_arguments = no
