Is it possible to use DRF instead of standard vews in a web project?

If you are going to make a web interface and a mobile application on the Django Rest Framework, is it possible to reduce the work by writing only api and passing it to the front instead of using standard views? If yes, what are the differences. If not, I would like to know why.
