Removable hard disk formatting was initiated and then canceled immediately. Is it possible to somehow return the disk to its state before formatting while preserving all the files? Or it is no longer possible and you need to recover data on the disk using add. programs?

You can’t cancel it, but if you quickly turned it off, then the data most likely remained intact, basically.
It is important not to do stupid things here. Your disk will refuse to be detected, there is no file system on it, do not try to restore it. Look for a file recovery program and scan your dead partition with it.
Of course, you need to save it to another disk and carefully check what was restored, there may be surprises, the file has a name, the size is correct, and inside the file is empty.
