Is it possible to stop "fix disk errors" from System Restore running for more than 12 hours?

Hello.
The laptop with the seven was not loaded - error 0cx000009d (or 9ed) - an error of input-output devices, something there. Gray letters on a black background appear when you try to start the system in any mode. Even when trying to start with regular recovery tools. Doesn't load anything.
Loaded from the installation disk (a slightly different version, not the one on the laptop) win7 home sp1 launch recovery tools. The first link is System Startup Repair. And since yesterday, since lunch, for almost a day now, "Correction of errors on the disk, it can take more than an hour" has been going on. But damn it, no more than a day. Interrupt? It is clear that the screw is hard. I want to run only the checkdisk again with handles and restore the boot sectors from the command line of the installation disk.

Is the hard drive activity light on all the time? Or does it not light up at all? Or blinking as in normal operation?
It seems that you will not harm the screw in any way - it has already died.

You can reboot in any case - it won't get worse.
The checkdisk can be launched, if it is run 3 times and the errors are not eliminated, then as a variant of ghost ohm, for example, make a mirrored disk from this. If you want to save the data and do not rearrange the OS. You can see the Cristal Disk info in Windows PE (recovery mod'e) smart status if it is Critical, then you can think about replacing the disk. if not, then you can format the partition and install the OS again, and merge the data.
