Is it possible to split and join with gap in SVG filter?

I don’t understand much about SVG, maybe something like that is not possible in principle.
The idea is to take an HTML element that has an arbitrary height, cut it into equal-sized pieces vertically, and put those pieces back together by inserting something between them.

Only instead of colored squares there will be HTML content.
I've looked at existing SVG filters, but I don't think there's any such repetition (with increasing offset from the start). Is this even possible with SVG? A link to similar demos would be very helpful.
