Is it possible to share the Internet without a router in my situation?

Good night,
I would like to share the Internet via a wireless network without using a router, I believe that this is still possible when connecting a computer + laptop.
I would appreciate your help!
The point is this. I am connected to the interzet provider, which gives me an ip like 10.168.0.**, a mask of 255.255.255.0 and a gateway of 10.168.0.1.
According to the network connection setup, I get the Internet to the laptop with a cable. The laptop is equipped with Wi-Fi, and there is also a PCI Wi-Fi Card on the computer, which makes it possible to conduct a local network between the laptop and the computer. Actually the question is whether it is still possible to share the Internet received by the laptop from the laptop to the computer? If there is a possibility, how to do it? Win7 laptop, XPSP3 computer

The simplest thing is to raise the proxy on win7 or enable the general connection.
In the first case, you will have to register pros on your computer in the program, in the second, the laptop will be the gateway for it.
First of all, connect both computers via wi-fi

You can set up an ad-hoc connection between the laptop and the desktop and enable ICS on the desktop's wired connection.
A more beautiful option is to use a wifi card on the desktop in access point mode. Then the Internet can be divided into several wireless devices at the same time. Windows 7 seems to be a spark. For Windows XP there is a software named Virtual Access Point, only $40, there is a trial. I have not tried either, although I had a successful experience creating an access point on hostapd under Linux.

Everything was written correctly, I note that not every Win7 is suitable, for example, there are restrictions in the starter - Wi-Fi cannot be shared using standard means.

You can share. It is enough to set up an ad-hoc connection (the maximum that you can squeeze out is 11 megabits speed). In the connection that provides the Internet, check the box - allow other users to use it. On the laptop, register your computer as the default gateway. And prescribe DNS provider or Google.
