Is it possible to rewrite http traffic urls using macos?

Now I use Charles for these purposes - so that the data would be replaced not with '*.myhost.com\images\*' but with ' specific_site.com/image.jpg ' - but I would like to do this with some regular means, so as not keep a separate program in memory. Is that possible? If so, how?
