Is it possible to remove the 301 redirect in .htaccess after re-indexing new URLs?

Evening at home!
It is planned to change the structure of the site (url) +
change the type of url - adding .html to the end.
Old addresses in 301 redirects in .htaccess
will be redirected to new urls.
After re-indexing the site with new urls by search engines,
can the 301 redirect entries in .htaccess be removed?
Thanks

@arde

and if redirected to a new domain?
It says here that when redirecting to a new domain, the tits are transmitted in 1.5 months. But apparently, he then falls, because. if you abandon the old domain on which the redirect was placed, then links from other sites referring to it will be broken. Those. you will not refuse the old domain and on it the redirect should constantly hang? or is it not?

Google is recommended not to remove 301 redirects during the year
; they have not been tested in practice, i.e. sticky sticky all the time
