Is it possible to protect against Ddos with PHP?

Finished my first site on php
sniffer.poigraem.uz
Here the first attack went (I was warned) so to speak for the test. And the server issued a restriction to the site. And all 2 minutes the site is offline. I found this article
vk-site.com/zashhita-ot-ddos-atak-na-php.html
But is it worth trying to install it. Are there other options for protection?
By the way, this is not the first time the site has crashed. When I just started making a site on this hosting. I checked the design through browsershots, it happened that even after it it gave out restrictions. Can you tell me if there are any other options?

PHP requires proper use. Ddos protection is implemented on a completely different level. And this script will not help in principle, because ddos is what ddos is for, that it comes from different IPs. On the contrary, with this script you will lie down faster.
You either have a really bad hoster, or you have coded something crooked.
First you need to find out why the site is crashing. Where is the bottleneck, where is the load. If you don't like Uzbekistan hosting, take another one.
And why are you bothered by ddos at all? It doesn't look like you have some kind of commercial or competitive project that would make sense to ddos.

The answer to your question is this: it is possible only from the most primitive attack at a primitive level.
Correct answer: no, you can't. To protect against stronger attacks, they change the server configuration and not php. For example, you can cunningly configure iptables (prohibit ip ranges or set intervals)
