Is it possible to process the photo before sending it to the server on the client side?

Good day.
It is necessary to upload photos to the news site made by photographers (they are large) or simple large pictures.
I would like the script to already reduce the photo without quality loss (a sort of balance between size and quality) in size on the client side (did it in batch mode, several photos at a time) before sending it to the server and further publishing it on the site, so as not to take space on the server with large files. Is there such a thing at all?

Yes, it is possible to pre-process the image on the client side. There are a lot of scripts, do not be lazy, google the javascript image editor yourself and choose the one that suits your requirements

possible, but difficult. Not ideal, but easier
to download, the script on the server immediately brings the image to the desired size and saves it as a jpeg 75-90%
