Distributed Computing

Is it possible to mine/compute something on a weak machine (CPU)?

There is a minisystem on Atom that works 24/7. There are several processes spinning there, which in total occupy no more than 30% of the CPU power. Integrated video card (Intel chipset), Linux. Internet broadband.
The question is - are there cryptocurrencies that can be mined on this kind of PC? I understand that the performance here will be very low, but the machine still works, so why not make it do something useful? Or is it worth forgetting about income and better connect to volunteer distributed computing for the benefit of science?
I will be glad to receive answers both about cryptocurrencies and about computing.
System - Runtu, Linux proficiency level - user (preference is given to boxed solutions).

Yes, XMR (Monero). But at such a speed that, God forbid, a dollar will bring in a few months, so it's easier to score

I would not advise mining on a weak machine:
1. You overload the processor and video card and, as a result, they will not last for a long time
2. The cost of electricity will significantly exceed the income
