Is it possible to make up a site from a layout in AI?

I'm going to try my hand at web design, I'm good at Adobe Illustrator, with Ps it's tight.
Questions:
Is it possible to make a site according to the layout from Illustrator?
If so, how much will the layout in Ai complicate the task for the layout designer?

No problem. What is .psd, what is .ai - what's the difference? A problem with a particular layout designer can only arise if he does not know Illustrator or is a fan of Corel.
