Is it possible to make authorization through a phone number in Telegram?

I am creating a bot that can be used by a limited number of people.
These people have phone numbers and they are already known in some database.
Is it possible to force telegrams to give a phone number to the back-end to check for availability in the database.
I don’t want to do a mapping between the id User telegram and the database, since there are quite a lot of people and they change.
