Is it possible to make an application the only one on an android tablet? (for nothing else to work)

There is a task to use an application in an Android tablet within a certain company. I want nothing but this application to work. Has anyone experienced this? Is there such a possibility?

How do you choose to write your own launcher and give it the ability to run only this application, or immediately hardcode your application as a launcher? Next, get root on the device and remove the regular launcher, market, dialers and other whistles. This may end sadly for the device (i.e. you need to test on a specific device what to delete and what cannot be deleted), but I see no other way out.
