Is it possible to make a server with a development environment on AWS?
I'm tired of suffering with windows brakes under parallels on my macbook (I run it once a month to fix bugs in one Delphi program).
Do I understand correctly that it is possible to take an ec2 server on AWS on windows + an ebs disk, install Delphi, SQL Server there and start this server only when I need to do something, while paying only for the time when the server was started?

The answer is somewhat offtopic, but it can be useful, I think.
Before you abandon the idea of virtual machines on a poppy, try VMWare solution. Why? Because as far as I know, the processing power is forwarded by many virtual machines quite well. However, with the GPU, everything is much more complicated.
This can be solved through PCI-PassThrough (forwarding a video card inside a virtual machine), which is hardly an option for a macbook.
But you can also optimize the GPU without putting it inside a virtual machine. This is what the VMWare hypervisor does. I don't want to lie about exactly how it works. But I tried it and here's what I can say from personal experience:
I have a slightly different configuration - a host on Linux and a virtual machine on Windows. I used to keep everything in VirtualBox, but not so long ago I decided to try VMWare and I must say that in the latter, Windows was much more responsive (at least in terms of interface and graphics in general).
In short, I advise you to try this hypervisor - there will probably be a profit. In any case, he has a trial period.
Well, maybe it makes sense to run Delphi under Wine: https://www.howtogeek.com/263211/how-to-run-window...
Ps I'm not a virtualization guru - but I have some experience (mostly bad :) ). If you solve your problem - please post the solution, it will be useful to many.
Pps If you know VMWare alternatives that are competitive in terms of graphics and the number of dances with a tambourine, I would be grateful for a link.
