Document flow

Is it possible to make a program for internal workflow with qr codes?

I work in a large facility in the supply department. We have a very large document flow. Applications for payment, contracts, tenders are drawn up. I then carry all this through the internal instances of the enterprise. Documents on average, about 50 pieces per day. You need to track at what stage they are, and where they are stuck.
As long as it looks like this. The document is registered in Excel. Then a unique number is assigned to it. I carry the documents to another building and write down by hand the number and office where it is located. I push through documents from the previous visit and also write them down. For one visit the document can "jump" three times.
I return to our office, enter the promotion scheme into my spreadsheet. This takes a lot of time. The human factor also makes its own adjustments. I'm wrong. The person who registers is also sometimes mistaken. And the whole document, as it were, but as it were not)
As I see it, what can be done. There will be a program. You can register a document there. It then generates a unique QR code. I print it out and paste it on a document. Then, in the process of moving, I scan the code with my phone and write where the document is. I'm just giving my office number. It would also not be bad if the program signaled if there was no movement on the document for a long time.
So the question is, are these my wet dreams or can it be done this way?) And how difficult and expensive is it?

@caballero

the document management system assumes that the document is processed electronically and not carried by hand

Take 1C and don’t fool your brains
, I think if everything is big as described, it definitely exists and there is someone who sets it up
, there are other workflows, but 1C is universal

@unta

It is necessary to find someone who fumbles in 1C. We can only see whether the payment has passed or not.
But I feel like I'll have to figure it out
