Is it possible to kill the RAM or the mother by changing the frequency of the operative?

There is obviously working memory (set 1), there is a new one (set 2). I put a set of 2 in stock - it works. Raised a little frequency - it works. Raised more - a black screen when turned on. Reset settings - same result. Dropped, put set 2 - the same black screen.
The speaker is silent. It's definitely a worker, if you run it without RAM, it squeaks without stopping
Where to dig? It looks like the mother has screwed up, but only because of the frequency of the RAM is it very strange ...

In theory, no, since the BIOS will not allow overclocking above the critical or possible.

It is unlikely to kill it, but it is easy to get stuck on inappropriate settings. You may need a programmer to fill in a clean BIOS. For 20 years now, the settings have been stored in ROM, and the "reset by pulling out the battery" is simulated programmatically (and in this case it might not work)

do a full bios reset.
this may differ for each manufacturer, google about your motherboard
