Is it possible to install Linux (Ubuntu/ElementaryOS) alongside Windows 10?

There was a desire to install one of two Linux distributions: Ubuntu or ElementaryOS, but for reasons I do not understand, the error "Unable to find a medium containing a live file system" pops up during installation. Googling, I did not find any sensible advice, except to use another utility to write the distribution kit to a USB flash drive.

Can anyone suggest what to do in this situation? The computer is running Windows 10 (10240).

Thanks everyone for the advice, I turned on the IOMMU in the BIOS and it all worked.
