Is it possible to install apps on android and ios without using play and appstore?

Hello, please help me with this stupid question.
In mobile development, zero, but the task is to implement a native project for mobile platforms.
At the initial stage, the application will be tested on two smartphones: android - I will test, and ios - will be tested by a friend. Is there any solution for installing (and further updating the program) on these platforms without using Google plays and appstores, and without connecting devices to a computer? With android, I can still install via usb, since I myself will develop and test on this device, but every time I call a friend to put him on iphone is not an option ...

I will add Sergey Gornostaev .
You can on iOS. There are first services like hockeyapp. There is an official TestFlight service. And, as a last resort (but without update support) - a static page and a url-scheme like "itms-services://?action=download-manifest&url=_path_to_your_plist_".
But all these methods do not work without a developer account, if anything.
