Is it possible to install a shortcut on a flash drive?

Is it possible to install a shortcut for a flash drive? maybe through special software? Or native ways?
And, is it possible to set the shortcut so that it is the same on any PC?
Or is this not possible on Windows?

I don’t know how it is now, but earlier in Windows such a trick was done by placing the autorun.inf file with the following content in the root of the disk.

[autorun]
icon=icon.ico

Of course, the icon.ico file must be on the flash drive.
