Is it possible to implement virtualization on the desktop?
Good afternoon. The question is this: there is a home horse Core i7-3820, 16GB of opera, 2 GTX 760 video cards. At the moment, Windows 7 is the main axis, XP (for work) and Debian (for 70% of coding) are spinning on virtual machines. Is it possible to somehow use modern means to make the hypervisor the main axis, and run the seven, xp and lin in virtual environments on the same machine, while connecting to the guest axes "directly" on the same machine, not through vnc \ rdp ? At the same time, forward the video card and transfer several monitors for work (currently connected and working on 4 monitors)?

If there is support for VT-d CPU and MB, it remains only to find out (on your own) whether one of the video cards is being forwarded
I did this on kvm (everything was on amd hardware): ubuntu 14.04 x64 host, windows 7 guest. Everything worked. Moreover, there was no need for any dances with tambourines and the command line did everything through the libvirt graphical interface. The video card can be forwarded simultaneously to 1 virtual machine. If you are forwarding a video card, then you need a separate monitor. If in the configuration that is described, then for 4 monitors you will need 4 video cards (host and 3 virtual machines). And yes, not any hardware supports the forwarding of video cards - before it was a lottery. For virtual machines without video forwarding, I used SPICE (instead of vnc / rdp) - then everything works and does not slow down. Some inconveniences were associated with 1) using one set of keyboard and mouse - synergy was partially treated, or a second set of keyboard and mouse 2) the sound worked only through hdmi (or, again, spice). You can play around, but I don't use it - by my standards, the system eats a lot of electricity, so I "cleaned" it in a closet. H
