Is it possible to implement a Joomla sider without installing plugins?

I tried to write the code on the site page from here:

from here:
codepen.io/zuraizm/pen/vGDHl
and from somewhere else.
In the end it doesn't work. Everything is displayed randomly. I tried to prescribe a link to the jQuery library above the code - it did not help.
Tell me, is it possible to insert sliders in Joomla in this way? (just in case, I'll add, Joomla 2.5)
