Is it possible to give me a small task of a real project?
Good evening W.W. habra/toaster users.
Perhaps my question is terribly banal and has already been voiced many times, but my question will be tailored specifically for me.
I’m from a small city, the concentration of IT firms is extremely low, and the direction that I’m interested in is completely absent, or rather there is one studio, but it’s too early for me to go there, I’m just ashamed to take their time. Not long ago I started in the direction of Java development, I gave up everything for this :) A few weeks have passed, I try to read several sources at once and I also look at English resources, although the level of English is extremely low, but I began to try to write small tasks from educational portals , it turned out terribly, the brain is hard to rebuild. A person close to me, a developer, advised me to snatch a small task from a real project, he also said about open source. In this regard, a question. Can anyone give me a real task, TOR from a real project, I really want to see if I can adapt, because my programs were reduced to 30 lines of code :) I want to apologize in advance if this has already happened, or others have already tried. All the best!
UPD: Separately, I would like to thank the user "Dmitry Entelis". His advice and answers were very helpful.

Go to any open source Java project you like. https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/ has thousands of open bugs, for example. Choose any, try to fix it and send pull requests. There are quite simple things that simply no one has reached their hands. Even just having understood the infrastructure of a large project, you will gain valuable experience, and there will be something to write in your resume. If Eclipse is intimidating by its size, there are many simpler projects out there. You can choose, for example, on mvnrepository.com . It is difficult to advise a specific task without knowing your level and interests. Maybe you like algorithms, maybe draw an interface, maybe graphics, maybe tinker with databases.
You can think of tasks for yourself, here's a real example for you, implement an API, a catalog of books that will respond to basic requests (GET, POST, PUT, DELETE). already based on the task, you will delve into technology.
I also asked a similar question, one friend suggested writing my own web server, tk. its creation will pump the level of knowledge in working with the network, flows, and so on.
