We do not pay attention - certificates are freely converted from any to any format using openssl + cat
, but is there a need for a commercial certificate? basic aka ssl123 distributed for free

There is no such thing as "certificate for Nginx" or "certificate for Apache". They are all equally applicable on anything: even on the web, even on the mail server. It's just that there are subtle points on how (and whether it is necessary) to pack several certificates into one file or not. Lighttpd, for example, requires both the certificate file and the key certificate to be in the same file, which is achieved by simply concatenating the two files.
This choice on 2domains is just from this opera - they will simply pack and send you the set that you need exactly for the selected option.
That is, you don’t need to worry about this topic - get a certificate where you like it best and go ahead to victories.

I don’t know what 2domains has there (I wouldn’t work with them in principle).
But on nginx SSL works fine. Newer versions also have HTTP/2.

Choose Apache OpenSSL and don't worry.
