Is it possible to fully develop in C and not jump into C++?

Is it possible now to fully sit on pure C and not jump into the pros?
Do they use C11 now? And what about multithreading in C? There was support only in the new standard?
For some reason, there was such an opinion that without pluses it’s impossible to write absolutely everything (everywhere they force pluses, and almost all manuals are only on pluses), in particular, for example, window applications, although in principle this is not particularly interesting.

Yes, you can. C attracts with its simplicity, purity of concept. Pluses (view from the side) have long been reminiscent of Frankenstein's monster, greatly overcomplicated.

What for? Those. if embeded, then the choice can only be between asm and C. If the desktop, then why limit yourself to unnecessary frames? For the desktop, the size of C and C++ applications differs not so much (maximum times, but not orders of magnitude), and the speed is generally almost the same. At the same time, the speed of development in C ++ is higher.

Watching what to develop.
Generally speaking, the linux kernel is written in pure C with no pros. Also, all interpreters of Perl, python, ruby, and a lot of other languages are written on it.
