Is it possible to find out if a person is subscribed to the left channel. Telegram API?

Hello. I am making a bot that sends a link to a telegram channel and asks a person to subscribe. If the person subscribed, then the bot continues to work. If not, you must ask to subscribe again. How can this be implemented?
Tried through the getChatMember method, but an error is returned that must be an administrator. What can you advise?
