PS I'm actually a beginner, looked up how to make software for Arduino in C++. It's pain and tears when everything is done in one cycle using all sorts of delays. I have heard a lot about the quality of code and libraries.

Think for yourself - if a customer needs a freelancer to make and program a certain device - what is the reason to hire a separate iron worker and a separate programmer - and then figure out who will nod at whom if the device does not work, or does not work as it should.
When you can immediately hire a person who understands both this and that, and pay for a ready-made working prototype.
And large offices that can afford to keep both programmers and hardware specialists separately usually do not need freelancers.

The fact is that it is not enough to write software and assemble a circuit (with a piece of iron). Then you need to collect all this on a real process and make it work in real time.
