Is it possible to find more orders on social networks than on freelance exchanges?

For example, in VK there are groups in which you can simultaneously place orders, vacancies and job offers. At the same time, you do not need to pay for a subscription, worry about reviews and participate in tenders. Is it possible to successfully work only with social networks, ignoring the classic freelance exchanges? After all, there you can go to customers directly, without intermediaries. Anyone with similar experience please share your experience.

I'm good at my job, I just want to cut costs

@Bandicoot the bottom line is that paying for freelance exchanges is a minimal overhead. There is nowhere less.
1. Think about how long it will take to maintain a group on social networks. Clearly more than one hour a month. If your hour costs more than $20, then you increase the costs.
2. Think about the target audience. And look through the eyes of the customer. Will I go looking for a VKontakte artist for someone I don’t know or go to fl.ru (freelansim, odesk, elance), where I get a lot of offers from specialists who have experience and reviews? The answer is almost obvious.
3.
You can reach customers directly, without intermediaries

For you, intermediaries solve a lot of problems that may not be noticeable at first glance. For example, organizing your portfolio, feedback systems, searching for performers, and so on. Odesk and Elance in general for their 8-10% almost completely guarantee payment (no one will throw you). If you want without intermediaries, you can make your own website, launch an advertising campaign and work. It's just quite resource intensive. But it works.
4. If you fulfill your orders well, then the problem with intermediaries disappears by itself - a client base is recruited and word of mouth begins to work
5. And yes, 700 rubles a month is not such a big amount if you can correctly convert potential customers into customers.

Personally, for example, when looking for a developer, I pay the most important attention to his rating and recommendations.
What rating can be in social networks?

No, it can’t, it’s just that they cost 10-20 dollars there,
this is one time to eat in an inexpensive place for one person,
and now think if you can’t even buy aki on freelance exchanges (and there are generally 5 of them from the strength needed), then probably the problem is you, not in the exchanges.
You don’t need to buy anything on Odessa at all, you can just cut the loot for free without having any paid aks.
